Orthodontics for Children

Welton Orthodontics, alongside the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), recommends bringing your child for an orthodontic appointment by the age of 7. However, most treatment isn’t necessary until age 11 to 13 when most of their permanent teeth have come in unless a severe issue is present.


Early orthodontic treatment, also known as Phase One Treatment, typically lasts between six to nine months, then is followed by routine observations until all permanent teeth have erupted. During this time, Dr. Welton will recommend a customized plan to ensure a happy and healthy smile.
